Travelers Aid Family Services staff and volunteers work collaboratively to provide a continuum of services to those away from home and without a home.
Description:
The services provided by Travelers Aid Family Services include transportation assistance for people needing to relocate, family emergency shelter programs, transitional housing programs, permanent housing programs, prevention & stabilization services, case management, referrals for legal assistance and other programs, and advocacy. In addition TAFS administers a transportation assistance program for families and individuals.
History:
Travelers Aid Family Services was incorporated in 1920 to assist the traveling public, including the poor and disadvantaged. The various social service programs we operate focus on the needs of homeless families and individuals in transition.
