Last updated on August 26, 2008

To optimize the effectiveness of Orange County's community resources by providing a comprehensive information and referral system that links all of Orange County to community services and support.

Description:
Often times, many people go without necessary and readily available services because they do not know where to find the services or how to choose the most appropriate agency to meet their needs. As a result of 2-1-1 Orange County’s efficient and effective information and referral service the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has designated 2-1-1 Orange County the lead agency for the Orange County 2-1-1 calling system. 2-1-1 is the equivalent of 9-1-1 but for human services referrals. It is federally designated, but must be locally funded.
