MOMS Orange County provides an outreach program called Pregnancy Care Guidance (PCG) to low income pregnant women who have newly enrolled in MediCal. The purpose of PCG is to inform, motivate, and assist pregnant mothers in obtaining early, consistent, and appropriate prenatal care. Birth outcome evidence has demonstrated that this telephonic outreach can help to decrease the incidence of low birth weight infants and improve pregnancy outcomes. PCG interns will be trained to encourage early and consistent prenatal care, provide referrals to medical services and community resources that available to pregnant women and their families. A brief electronic questionnaire is completed by the PCG intern during the initial contact. Two additional telephonic contacts can be made if the mother agrees to participate in PCG.

Hours and times: 10 hours a week--Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5pm

Qualifications: Bilingual, comfortable working with all demographics, excellent people skills

A 1 hour volunteer orientation will be required. Training for this position will be required.

FROM THE NORTH: Take 5 south. Stay in the right hand land and exit at Main St./Braodway exit. It comes up quickly after the sign. Keep to right on the exit and turn right on Broadway. Cross 17th (about 1 mile) and cross Washington. The first drive way on the right (jsut past Washington) is our entrance. It is an alley next to the "Orleans Building". Park in the "Orleans Building" parking lot. FROM THE SOUTH: Take 5 north and exit at 17th in Santa Ana. After exiting, turn left on 17th and go to Broadway. Turn left on Broadway. Cross over Washington and turn into the first driveway on the right(an alley nest to the "Orleans Building"). Park in the "Orleans Building" parking lot.   Nearest Bus Stop: 53 Line on Main in Santa Ana, 205 Line on 17th Street in Santa Ana and 64 Line on First Street in Santa Ana, 10 minute walk
