The AARP Washington Fraud Fighter Call Center is one among similar centers nationwide. Within the national AARP organization, the Fraud Fighter Call Centers are managed by the AARP Foundation, which is the affiliated charitable arm of AARP. The Foundation’s mission includes a special emphasis on those individuals 50 and older at greatest social and economic risk. We are proud to be associated with the AARP Foundation, whose other programs include: AARP Foundation Legal Advocacy, the AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), AARP Tax-Aide, AARP Money Management Program, AARP Benefits Outreach, and the AARP Grandparents Information Center, among others.

History:
AARP Washington has a solid history in fraud prevention outreach efforts for residents of Washington State. The creation of this Fraud Fighter Call Center is the result of an opportunity created by funding from Western Union and in recognition of our proven history in fraud fighting.

In 2003 and in partnership with the Washington State Attorney General’s office and other partner agencies, AARP Washington launched a statewide initiative known as the Fraud Fighter Program. This program trained more than 3,000 Fraud Fighters in 20 different communities who continue to educate citizens about ways to avoid fraud.
