We have about 80 Civil War era letters written by and to Lt. Col. Evander Prescott of Farmington, Maine. We need a volunteer who can transcribe those letters and type them into a computer form. The original letters will then be scanned or photocopied to be sent to the donor. The volunteer will help with this project in our resource room/library which houses some of the museum's archives. This position will not start until April, 2009. The volunteer we need must have good concentration, enjoy Civil War era history and be able to type accurately. Speed is not essential but "hunt and peck" typing is not acceptable. Poor vision would be a serious limitation. This opportunity is sponsored by: Maine State Museum We need volunteers who are free at these times
