Are you a CPA, tax professional, or have experience or education involving tax preparation? Perhaps you have volunteered before, but did not stick with it because you wanted to share your true gifts and talents. Maybe you wanted to be involved with a project with long term, and possibly generational impact. If so, then Co-opportunity might have the perfect volunteer option for you! We are seeking Quality Assurance Professionals to review tax returns for accuracy at one of our free tax centers prior to transmission to the IRS. We firmly believe in the importance of the second set of eyes. Reviewers must have strong computer skills, good verbal communication skills, and must be certified as a preparer by the IRS, preferably at the advanced level. Free training provided, but previous tax/accounting background/education is preferred. Free training is provided for all positions. Volunteers must agree to work at least one, four-hour shift per week during the 14-week tax season beginning in mid-January. Tax centers are located throughout Hartford. Bilingual volunteers are needed. This opportunity is sponsored by: Hartford Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign
We need volunteers who are free at these times
