Help create a supportive and welcoming environment for “At-Risk” youth from the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. Volunteers will serve as volunteers in our Computer Clubhouse (ages 10-18) and provide homework help; help prepare snack; answer questions and converse with the children; help with computer programs and projects; provide encouragement and reassurance; help coordinate field trips and family events; and assist other volunteers and the program manager with miscellaneous mentor based activities. ALSO: *SUMMER DAY CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED, starting in June.
All Volunteers must be 18 years or older, must be patient, flexible, able to take direction, open to differences, empathetic toward children and their situations; good people skills and desire to work with multi-cultural and under served youth. Need to pass a fingerprint scan, provided. ALSO: Please make at least a three month commitment to the program. Must volunteer at least one day a week M-TH, from 3:20-5:30.
