  3rd Annual Family Volunteer Day

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 17th Annual Day of Caring!

The event was a huge success and nearly 2,400 volunteers completed 132 projects at 88 different agencies throughout Central Indiana.

Start gearing up for the 3rd Annual Family Volunteer Day!

Who:  Everyone!  Specifically, any group of two or more people who consider themselves family.

What:
Interact with senior citizens or children,
help make arts & crafts, create holiday cards, distribute food to families in need, hang holiday decorations, paint, and more!

When:  Saturday, November 22, 2008, 9am-1:30pm

Why: Family Volunteer Day allows volunteers,  nonprofit agencies, and United Way to join forces to improve our community and strengthen families here in Central Indiana.

Two Ways to Select a Project:

1.  Choose a project submitted by a local nonprofit.
2.  Create a project that is specific to your family.

Get involved because caring families change lives!

ReadUP Tutoring Program
ReadUP is a tutoring program that matches volunteer tutors from the community with IPS 4th and 5th Graders that have been identified as reading below grade level. Why 4th and 5th grade? Research shows that if kids aren’t reading at grade level by then, they are less likely to graduate. You can help get them back on track, which can be an uplifting experience for all of us, beginning with you.
