Christopher Place Employment Academy is a 60 bed, 18 month residential employment program for formerly homeless men housed at the Our Daily Bread Employment Center.
At Christopher Place each man is engaged in the process of changing and recapturing his life. This includes securing permanent and stable housing, permanent employment and drug-free living. The program helps participants to become motivated, employed citizens who support themselves, their families and contribute to society in meaningful ways. We are looking for you and one or two of your male co-workers or friends to commit to joining the Christopher Place men one weeknight per month for dinner. Christopher Place men need to meet other men who are hardworking, successful, have meaning and joy in their lives, and want to give back. We know this experience will enrich the lives of our men, as well as yours.
Your time commitment is 5:00pm to 6:30pm , one weeknight per month. You will be asked to help set-up and serve food, but remember that the important focus of this opportunity is that you sit and have dinner with the men. Engaging them in casual dialog about their process, their joys, their hard work, or simply the weather or sports is a gift.
