![]() Tax Aides are trained advisors who help people of low or moderate income to complete their Federal and State tax forms. If you are not afraid of computers or numbers, this could be your volunteer opportunity! You'll be trained and certified to complete Federal and State tax forms on computer or paper. Work with other dedicated volunteers and make a difference for low and moderate income families. A week-long training is provided free of charge by AARP and IRS experts in Bangor in January, 2009. Volunteers can also be trained on-line or by distance learning. Practice and on the job training are offered and expert assistance is a phone call away. The volunteers get a mileage reimbursement and are expected to be available at tax clinic sites two to four hours weekly from February 1 until April 15.
