Hot, nutritious meals are delivered daily to homebound seniors by dedicated and caring volunteers. These meals assist the senior to remain healthy, in their own home. The volunteer is often the only person the senior sees for days at a time and the senior enjoys the visit as much as the meal. Our volunteers tell us this is one of the most rewarding and meaningful activities they have ever participated in and they become very close to the seniors they serve. Volunteers are trained to be attentive to the client's needs and to report anything that appears to indicate a problem. Volunteers usually deliver one day per week and are paired with a seasoned volunteer for the beginning days. Volunteers need to have reliable transportation. This opportunity is sponsored by: Bay County Council On Aging, Inc.
